OUR STORY
Established in 1984, Spice Island Marine Services is a family-owned and operated haven for vessels in Grenada, West Indies. The Evans Family, led by the visionary Glyn “Junior” Evans, embarked on this maritime venture at the site that is currently Prickly Bay Waterside, marking the inception of a legacy that would span decades. Their pioneering spirit led to the introduction of the first Travelift in the Southern Caribbean, a testament to their commitment to elevating the region's marine services.
In 2002, a significant milestone was achieved as Spice Island Marine transitioned to its current location in True Blue, continuing to offer unparalleled boating services. The essence of family and community has always been the cornerstone of their operations. This ethos was further cemented in 2020 when Junior, after a remarkable tenure, passed the torch of leadership to his two adept sons, Justin and Dane Evans. This transition not only symbolized a new chapter but also the enduring legacy of a family deeply rooted in yachting excellence.
The heart of Spice Island Marine Services beats with a team mostly comprised of local Grenadian talent, many of whom have dedicated 15 plus years of service, embodying a wealth of experience and a deep-seated passion for marine craftsmanship. The camaraderie among the staff extends beyond the boatyard, creating a familial bond with customers who often become part of the extended Spice Island Marine family. These long-term relationships are a testament to the trust, care, and exceptional service that define the essence of Spice Island Marine.
As Spice Island Marine sails forward, the values of family, community, and unmatched marine expertise continue to be the guiding compass. The journey that began in 1984 continues to navigate the waters of innovation and tradition, with the promise of many more horizons to explore.
